How to create a one-time payment link

Request a fixed amount from one person with a link that expires once it is paid.

A one-time link requests a specific amount from a specific person. It suits invoices, one-off sales, or asking someone to pay you back.

The person you send it to does not need an Enta account to pay.

1. Choose the link type

Starting a new payment link opens Create payment link, described as "Set up a link to request or collect a payment". A stepper across the top shows Link type, Payment details and Review.

The first question is "What type of link do you need?", with a banner reminding you: "Anyone can pay. No Enta account needed."

You are offered two cards: One-time link, "Request a specific amount from someone", and Reusable link, "Accept payments from anyone, for any amount". Pick One-time link.

2. Name the link

With One-time link selected, two fields appear: Link title and Who is this payment for? (optional).

Fill in a title, for example "Inv24902 Payment". Add the recipient's name if you want to. Tap Continue.

3. Set the amount and notifications

The One-time link payment details screen, "Set the amount you want to receive and how you'd like to be paid", starts with an Amount field. The currency dropdown offers USDT, BTC, Naira, Euro and Pound. A Description field is optional.

Below that, the Notify the recipient (optional) section says "We'll send them the link with payment instructions". Toggle on Email, Telegram or WhatsApp and fill in the matching email address, Telegram number or WhatsApp number. Enta then sends the link for you.

4. Choose where the money settles

The Settle into section on the same screen offers three cards: Enta Wallet ("Receive as crypto"), External Wallet ("Your own address") and Bank Account ("Auto-convert to fiat"). What you pick changes what appears next.

Enta Wallet reveals a Receive payment as dropdown, where you choose the asset you want to be paid in, for example USDT on Optimism.

External Wallet reveals a Wallet address field with a Paste button, plus Asset and Network dropdowns.

Bank Account reveals a Receive payment into panel with two buttons: New Bank Account and Beneficiary.

Tapping New Bank Account opens an Add Bank Account modal scoped to the currency you chose. For Euro it asks for Currency, Account name, Country, Bank name and International Bank Account Number (IBAN). For Pound it asks for Account number and Sort code instead of an IBAN. Tap Add Account to save it, or Cancel to back out.

Tapping Beneficiary opens a Beneficiaries drawer with NGN, EUR and GBP tabs, listing your saved bank accounts by name, currency, account number and bank. Pick one instead of adding a new account.

Once a bank account is chosen, new or saved, it appears as a summary card with a Remove option. Tap Continue.

5. Review and create the link

The Review screen summarises everything: Amount, your title and reference, Type ("One-time link" — "Expires after payment is received"), Settle payment into with a badge showing your chosen destination, and Recipient details if you filled them in.

Tap Back to change anything, or Create Payment Link to finish.

6. Share the link

Once created, Payment link created shows your shareable Payment link with a copy icon, plus a summary of the Amount, the Settle payment into destination and the Recipient.

Tap Go to Payment Link to view it.

Good to know

  • A one-time link expires after the payment is received.

  • The payer does not need an Enta account.

  • Notifying the recipient is optional. If you skip it, copy the link and send it yourself.

  • The Add Bank Account fields depend on the currency you chose, so set the currency before adding the account.

  • For a link you want to share more than once, use a reusable link instead. See the article on creating a reusable payment link.
