How to swap tokens

Exchange one token for another on Shiga, across supported EVM networks.

Token swapping lets you exchange one token for another directly on Shiga, across supported EVM networks. Swaps are fast, secure, and cost-efficient.

Key features

  • Multi-chain support — swap across Ethereum, Optimism, Base, and other supported networks.

  • Verification — secured with a one-time code via your authenticator app or email.

  • Real-time rates — dynamic, competitive pricing.

  • Gas fee optimization — smart estimation for cost-effective transactions.

  • Transaction tracking — real-time progress from start to finish.

Step-by-step

  1. Open the Swap section after logging in to your Shiga account.

  2. Select your source token (From): choose the token to swap (for example, USDT) and enter an amount, or click MAX to use your full balance.

  3. Select your destination token (To): choose the token you want to receive.

  4. (Optional) Send to another address: enable this if you're swapping to a different wallet.

  5. Review the exchange rate and estimated fees before continuing. Note that cross-chain swaps may require bridging.

  6. Authenticate: enter the 6-digit code sent to your email or authenticator app, then click Approve.

Tracking a cross-chain swap

For swaps that bridge between networks (for example, USDT on Base → USDT on Optimism), you'll see the progress move through these stages:

  1. Confirmed in wallet (initial approval)

  2. Confirmed on source chain (processing)

  3. Bridged (moving across networks)

  4. Sent to destination chain (finalizing)

  5. Completed — funds arrive in your wallet

Once complete, the swapped amount is displayed, and you can click View On-chain to verify the transaction on a block explorer, or swap again instantly.
