How to complete your KYC verification

A step-by-step guide to verifying your identity on Shiga, so you can unlock portal accounts and instant, compliant on- and off-ramps

Shiga is required by financial regulations to verify the identity of all users. Completing KYC keeps your account and transactions secure, meets anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) requirements, and unlocks full access to the platform, including higher transaction limits and portal accounts.

Before you begin

Make sure you have:

  • A valid government-issued ID (National ID, Driver's License, Passport, or Residence Permit).

  • A proof of address dated within the last 3 months (utility bill, bank statement, or government-issued document).

  • Access to your registered email address.

  • A device with a camera for the liveness check (webcam or smartphone).

Step-by-step

  1. Start verification. Log in to your Shiga account. On your dashboard, click Complete KYC in the blue notification banner.

  2. Enter your identity details. Provide your residential address, zip/post code, ID type, ID number, and source of funds, then click Verify Now.

  3. Verify your email. Enter the 6-digit code sent to your registered email and click Authorize. (If it doesn't arrive, check spam or resend.)

  4. Review the security notice. You'll see a verification page for Shiga Digital Limited. If you reached this from a suspicious source, close the page and contact support. Otherwise, click Continue.

  5. (Optional) Use Sumsub ID. You can speed up verification by securely reusing stored data, or simply continue without it.

  6. Begin verification. Review the three steps — provide your ID, complete a liveness check, and upload proof of address — then click Start verification.

  7. Select your document. Choose your issuing country and document type (Driver's License, ID card, Residence permit, or Passport), then click Continue. You can also continue on your phone.

  8. Complete the liveness check. Find good lighting, center your face in the frame, and remove hats, glasses, or masks.

  9. Upload proof of address. Accepted documents include an ID showing your address, or a bank statement, utility bill, or government document from the last 3 months. Formats: JPG, PNG, HEIC, WEBP, or PDF, up to 50 MB.

  10. Done. You'll see "Your profile has been verified." You can now return to your dashboard.

Troubleshooting

  • Verification code not arriving: check your spam folder, confirm your email is correct, and request a new code if it has expired.

  • Document upload problems: keep the file under 50 MB, use an accepted format, and make sure the document is clear and readable.

  • Liveness check fails: improve your lighting, remove glasses/hats/masks, center your face, or try your phone camera instead.

Security reminders

  • Never share your verification codes with anyone.

  • Only complete verification through official Shiga links.

  • Shiga will never ask for your password during KYC.

  • Report any suspicious verification requests immediately.

Note: Completing registration gives you access to self-custodial wallets with free stable coin transactions. Completing KYC unlocks all of Shiga's features.
