Why the Shiga app is now called ENTA

Same app, same team, same wallet — just a new name. Here's what changed, what didn't, and why you don't need to do anything.

Same app, same team, same wallet — just a new name. Here's what changed, what didn't, and why you don't need to do anything.

First things first: yes, this is really us

If your app suddenly has a new name and icon, it's healthy to be suspicious — that instinct protects you. So to be clear:

  • This is an official rename, not a takeover or a copycat app. The update came through the official App Store / Google Play listing you originally installed from.

  • You will never be asked to "migrate," "re-verify," or move funds because of this rename. If anyone contacts you asking for that, it's a scam — report it to us in the chat.

Do I need to do anything?

No. Nothing at all. Your app updates itself, and everything carries over automatically:

  • Your account, balances, and full transaction history

  • Your wallet — same address, same funds

  • Your passkey login and all security features, including recovery

  • The same support team, right here in this chat

Your money never moved and your wallet never changed. Only the name on the door did.

So who is Shiga, and who is ENTA?

Simple version:

  • Shiga Digital is the company — the team building the technology.

  • ENTA is the app — the wallet in your hands.

Until now, the app shared the company's name, which got confusing as we grew. Giving the app its own name keeps things clear: ENTA is the product you use; Shiga Digital is the company behind it.

You'll still see the Shiga name in places like our legal documents, terms of service, and some official communications — that's normal and expected.

Why the new name?

We started in Nigeria and we're now building for the wider Africa–Gulf corridor, serving both everyday users and institutions. ENTA is the name for that next chapter — a product with its own identity, backed by the same company and the same team you already know.

What you'll notice

  • A new app name and icon on your home screen

  • The ENTA name and look inside the app

  • Everything else exactly where you left it
