Two-factor authentication (2FA) protects your account by requiring two forms of verification instead of just a password. Even if your password is ever compromised, no one can access your account without the second factor.
The two methods Shiga offers
Email verification: a one-time code is sent to your registered email. Best for simplicity.
Authenticator app (recommended): Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator generates a time-sensitive 6-digit code that refreshes every 30 seconds. Best for stronger security, since it doesn't rely on email.
Step-by-step
Log in to your Shiga dashboard.
Go to Account Settings in the left-hand menu.
Under Security, open the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) options.
Choose your method — Email or Authenticator app.
If you chose an authenticator app: download Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, then scan the QR code on screen. If scanning doesn't work, enter the setup key shown on your screen manually.
Enter the 6-digit code from your chosen method.
Click Authorize to confirm. Your 2FA is now set.
Good to know
You can switch between email and authenticator app only once every 24 hours. This prevents rapid changes that could signal account compromise.
Never share your 2FA codes or private key with anyone.
Keep a backup option in place — if you lose access to your 2FA method, account recovery can be difficult.
