Roles and permissions

What Super Admin, Admin, and Viewer can each do on a business account.

Every person on your business account holds one of three roles. The role decides what they can see and what they can do, from read-only access through to moving money and deleting the business.

Roles exist on business accounts only. A personal account has no team and no roles, so there is nothing to set.

You will find roles under Settings > Business > Team.

Super Admin

Full control of the business. A Super Admin can:

  • Move money on their own.

  • Approve what others start.

  • Manage billing.

  • Edit the business profile.

  • Manage integrations.

  • Set approval limits.

  • Delete the business.

Admin

Runs day-to-day operations. An Admin can move money with a Super Admin's approval.

Viewer

Read-only access to balances, statements, and activity. A Viewer cannot move money or change anything.

Role details

Click a role's row to open its Role details panel. The panel lists every permission for that role and how many members currently hold it, along with a View members link.

Good to know

  • There are three roles on a business account, and each person holds one of them.

  • Moving money is the main difference between the roles: a Super Admin can do it alone, an Admin needs a Super Admin's approval, and a Viewer cannot do it at all.

  • Approval limits and billing sit with Super Admins.

  • You pick a role when you invite someone, and each role card shows a short description before you decide.

  • Use View members in the Role details panel to check who currently holds a role before you change anyone's access.
