How to manage a team member

View a member's info, role and activity, edit their details, or remove them from your business.

Team management is part of a business account. If you use a personal account, you will not see a Team section in your settings, and none of the steps below apply to you.

On a business account, managing a member opens one person's details across three tabs: Info, Role and Activity. Use it to see what someone's role allows, check what they have been doing, update their job title or department, change their role, or remove them from the business.

1. Open the member's details

Go to Settings > Business > Team and find the person in your list of members.

  • Click the ••• menu on their row.

  • Click Manage.

2. Check the Info tab

The Info tab shows the member's job title, department, the date they joined, and when they were last active. It also holds the Edit button.

3. Check the Role tab

The Role tab shows the member's current role and the full list of permissions that come with it. This tab is read-only. You cannot change the role from here — use Edit instead.

4. Check the Activity tab

The Activity tab is a timeline of that member's own actions, grouped by day. It covers things such as transfers they initiated, sign-ins, statements they downloaded, and beneficiaries they saved.

Click View more to load older activity.

5. Edit their details or role

Click Edit on the Info tab to open the edit form.

  1. Update their Job title or Department. Both are optional.

  2. Under Edit role, pick a different role if you need to.

  3. Click Save Changes.

6. Remove a member

Click Remove Member at the bottom of any tab to remove someone from the business. You will be asked to confirm.

Removal takes effect straight away. It revokes their access and cancels any transaction they had in progress, so check their Activity tab before you confirm.

Good to know

  • The Role tab is for reading permissions only. Every role change goes through Edit on the Info tab.

  • Job title and Department are optional, so they may be blank for some members.

  • The Activity tab covers one member. To see events across the whole business, use the activity log under your business security settings.

  • Removing a member is immediate and cancels their in-progress transactions. If someone only needs different access, change their role instead.

  • What a role can and cannot do is set out on the roles and permissions page in this Help Center.
